Thoughts On Translation …the translation industry and becoming a translator

This blog is written by Corinne McKay. She is an American Translators Association-certified French to English translator specializing in law, international development, corporate communications and non-fiction books. In addition to translating for direct clients and translation companies throughout the U.S. and Europe, she enjoys staying plugged in to the translation industry as the current President (2010-2012) of the Colorado Translators Association and the Chair of the American Translators Association's Public Relations Committee. She has a B.A. in French and English from Geneseo College and the University of Grenoble, France, and an M.A. in French Literature and Culture from Boston College.

In 2006, she published How to Succeed as a Freelance Translator, which has since sold over 3,500 copies and has become a widely-cited reference for the translation industry. When not at the computer, she can usually be found hiking, biking and skiing in the Rockies with her husband and daughter.
