National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA), a national non-profit that preserves and promotes the dignity, well-being, and quality of life of Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders (AAPI), and diverse communities is searching for a full-time Lead Community Resource Specialist. The role is temporary full-time through June 2022 and may be converted to permanent full-time or part-time based on funding. You must speak Mandarin AND Cantonese to be considered for this role. The Lead Community Resource Specialist manages a team of Community Resource Specialists (CRSs) while also providing excellent customer service to callers who call the NAPCA Helpline seeking general information or to access essential referral networks.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Community Resource Specialist:
Offer support to the Manager of Program Operations which may include assisting other Community Resource Specialists (CRSs) with sound judgment to respond to calls
Manage a team of part-time hourly multilingual CRSs to deliver quality care and relevant information to callers by providing information and referral to older AAPI adults. Work with CRSs to develop schedules, receive feedback to improve the program, and monitor calls to ensure quality in service.
Provide excellent service with compassionate, respectful, clear, timely, and professional communications for callers to NAPCAs Helpline seeking information and referral by:
o Assessing caller needs using sound judgement
o Offer information and appropriate referrals to community services using warm handoffs when possible
o Assist with translation or interpretation needs, which may include paper documentation assistance
o Accurately and thoroughly document caller demographic, call request, and other case note information according to NAPCAs system
Ensure resolution or referral for all calls received by utilizing NAPCA resources or by researching information independently through other resources (online, etc.)
Ensure that all Specialists are documenting calls, voice messages, emailed requests, and all Helpline activity in detail for assistance provided.
Translate NAPCA materials (documents, applications, social media posts, press releases, flyers, etc.) from English to written Chinese.
Maintain and update NAPCAs resource library at the direction of the Manager of Program Operations and by staying informed of community resources, coordinated community responses and any changes to such resources in response to information commonly requested by callers.
Assists Manager of Program Operations with quality assurance process to ensure call quality of all Specialists by responding to reviews of calls, leading the team to make necessary adjustments per the QA review, and to keep identify ways to improve the Helplines quality of service.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver quality in-language information and referral to community members served by NAPCAs various programs.
Provide analysis and reporting on calls received and trends in information requested.
Complete NAPCA provided training and/or certifications when required.
Maintain a level of comfort and ability around basic technology (email, databases, etc.) as well as future systems as technology needs of the work and organization progresses
Other related duties, as assigned.

General Responsibilities
Attend weekly team meetings and occasional retreats or conferences
Serve as a visible advocate for NAPCAs mission and programs in the community
Assist with NAPCA organizational responsibilities as needed
Promotes a collegial work environment by demonstrating collaborative practices, team-building behaviors, providing peer support, and motivating staff to outstanding performance.
Follows personnel policies and procures.

What the Successful Candidates Will Have:
Commitment to diversity and sensitivity to the needs of older populations.
Professional level verbal and written fluency in English and Cantonese & Mandarin. Interpreter/translator experience is preferred; licensed or certified for interpretation and translation highly preferred.
Minimum of one years experience with case management, social work or other direct service-related work
Familiarity with government and social service programs and referral networks (Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, etc.).
Exemplary communication skills and a commitment to providing quality customer service.
Competence with internet search functions and MS Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to work independently, prioritize competing assignments, and meet deadlines.
Adherence to confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
Consistent and dependable in communicating updates or questions and follow through on tasks to successful completion.
Proactive in collaborating with team members to share best practices and create process when needed.
